Websol Energy System Limited (Websol) has received approval from the Government of Andhra Pradesh for its proposed greenfield 4 GW solar cell and solar module manufacturing facility at MPSEZ, Naidupeta, Tirupati district. This approval follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) on 15th November 2025. The Andhra Pradesh government has offered an incentive package including land allotment, fixed capital investment subsidy, power tariff reimbursement, electricity duty exemption, subsidy on industrial water charges, and exemption from stamp duty and other registration charges. Websol also plans to establish a 100 MW captive solar power plant within the facility to ensure reliable energy access and improve operating costs. Mr. Sohan Lal Agarwal, Managing Director of Websol Energy, stated that this expansion aligns with India's renewable energy goals and the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. He highlighted the supportive industrial ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh as a strong platform for their growth strategy. The company aims to contribute significantly to the renewable energy sector with this expansion.
