Voltas Limited announced on December 18, 2025, that it has received orders from GST authorities demanding a total of ₹4.35 crores in tax, along with applicable interest and penalties. The demands are related to the financial year 2021-22 and allege understatement of liability or ineligible Input Tax Credit (ITC) claims. The company received three separate orders: one from the Assistant Commissioner, State Tax, Cuttack, Odisha, for ₹1.37 crores in tax, ₹0.90 crores in interest, and ₹0.14 crores in penalty. Another order came from the Assistant Commissioner, State Tax, Ropar, Punjab, demanding ₹1.46 crores in tax, ₹1.14 crores in interest, and ₹0.15 crores in penalty. The third order was from the Assistant Commissioner, Central Tax, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, Telangana, for ₹1.51 crores in tax and a penalty of ₹0.15 crores. Voltas Limited is in the process of filing appeals against these orders. The company stated that these demands have no material impact on its financials, operations, or other activities.
