More Details on This News

Vikram Solar Limited has announced a strategic transition to a fully G12R-based high-efficiency module portfolio, reinforcing its commitment to next-generation solar technology. This move aligns with the global industry trend towards larger-format wafers, high-efficiency N-type architectures, and bifacial designs to maximize energy yield and improve project economics.

The transition signifies an evolution from product innovation to portfolio standardisation, centered around the HYPERSOL G12R module series. By consolidating its entire offering around this advanced portfolio, Vikram Solar aims to set a clear direction for high-efficiency, large-format solar manufacturing in India. The company has expanded its module manufacturing capacity to 9.5 GW across three plants in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.

The HYPERSOL G12R modules, including the HYPERSOL G12R (132HC module series) and HYPERSOL PRO G12R, offer a maximum power output of up to 640 Wp with efficiencies reaching 23.69%. The rectangular, large-format design optimises container utilisation to 98.5%, reducing logistics costs. HYPERSOL G12R is also available in 96 and 108 HC formats for space-optimized rooftop applications. The platform is designed to meet IEC, UL, and BIS standards for deployment in India, the US, Europe, and Australia.

Mr. Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman & Managing Director of Vikram Solar, stated that the company is making a deliberate choice to lead with performance, consistency, and future-ready innovation by transitioning entirely to the G12R portfolio. This strategic move aims to strengthen India's standing in the global solar manufacturing ecosystem. The transition will be executed in a phased approach, ensuring continuity for existing customer commitments while optimising production yields and quality assurance.
