Vedanta Limited has announced a significant hydrocarbon (gas) discovery in its appraisal well Ambe-2A, located within the Discovered Small Field (DSF) Block awarded in September 2022. The discovery was notified to the Management Committee, DGH, and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on January 23, 2026, at approximately 04:30 p.m. The gas discovery has been made in reservoirs situated below the main gas field, specifically within the Miocene-Tarkeshwar formation. Vedanta Limited holds a 100% participating interest in this DSF-III round block. Further evaluations are currently underway to assess the full potential of this discovery and to integrate it into the existing field development plan for the block.
