United Spirits Limited has announced the closure of its manufacturing unit located at 9-61, Venkateshwara Nagara, Malkajgiri, Hyderabad – 560 047, India. This closure is effective from July 8, 2026. The company received approval from the Office of Commissioner, Prohibition and Excise, Telangana, Hyderabad, to transfer the excise license of the unit. This marks the cessation of operations at the Hyderabad facility. Previously, on June 4, 2026, United Spirits had intimated the stock exchanges about the proposed closure of this unit as part of its multi-year Supply Chain Agility Program, which was approved by the Board on January 24, 2023. The unit contributed approximately 2% or ₹599 crore to the company's revenue from operations during the financial year 2025-26. The estimated date of closure was initially set for August 31, 2026. The delay in disclosure was attributed to the time required for verification of facts with internal stakeholders. The company intends to transfer the excise license to another party following the closure.
