Time Technoplast Limited announced that its subsidiary, PowerBuild Batteries Private Limited, has entered into a significant business collaboration and exclusive distribution agreement with Monbat AD, a leading European battery manufacturer based in Bulgaria. Under this multi-year arrangement, PowerBuild will exclusively distribute Monbat's maintenance-free, advanced Valve Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA) stationary and reserve power battery solutions throughout India. These advanced batteries will cater to the growing demands of critical sectors such as Data Centres, IT infrastructure, BFSI institutions, and other mission-critical industrial applications. This collaboration is strategically aligned with the Indian government's 'Make in India' initiative, aiming to strengthen domestic distribution and supply-chain infrastructure, create local employment, develop a technical support ecosystem, and enhance the service network for advanced battery solutions in India. The announcement highlights the significant growth potential in the Indian market, particularly driven by the expansion of data centres and the BFSI sector's digital infrastructure. Industry estimates suggest that India's data centre capacity is expected to expand substantially over the next 7-10 years, with cumulative investments projected to be ₹2.3-2.5 lakh crore. PowerBuild estimates a market opportunity of approximately ₹3,500-4,000 crore for advanced VRLA batteries in these segments over the next decade. PowerBuild will leverage Monbat's global technology expertise and Eurobat-compliant battery portfolio, while providing pan-India technical support, including installation, commissioning, and after-sales service. This partnership is expected to bolster PowerBuild's position as a comprehensive provider of critical power solutions for India's expanding digital economy.
