Tembo Defence Products Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Tembo Global Industries Limited, has paid the requisite fees towards obtaining a defence manufacturing licence. This significant step follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Government of Maharashtra at the World Economic Forum 2025, Davos, for establishing a small arms manufacturing plant in collaboration with the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

The proposed facility aims to bolster indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities in alignment with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives. It is anticipated to foster local employment, drive technological advancement, and contribute to a robust domestic defence ecosystem.

Mr. Sanjay J. Patel, Managing Director, Tembo Global Industries Ltd., stated that the payment of licence fees marks a crucial milestone towards establishing a world-class small arms manufacturing facility in Maharashtra. He highlighted that this initiative aligns with the company's long-term vision of contributing to India’s defence self-reliance by leveraging its engineering expertise and manufacturing capabilities, expressing gratitude for the support from the Government of Maharashtra and MIDC.
