Tata Power has successfully commissioned the 400 / 220 kV Metro Depot Substation and associated transmission lines in Greater Noida. This critical infrastructure project adds 1,000 MVA transformation capacity, aimed at meeting the growing electricity demand in the Greater Noida and NCR region. The commissioned project will also feed surplus power into the Northern Grid, supporting power requirements across other northern states.
The intra-state transmission system was executed by TP Jalpura Khurja Transmission Limited (TPJKPTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, marking the first milestone of the Jalpura-Khurja TBCB project. The on-time commissioning highlights Tata Power's execution capabilities and commitment to sustainable infrastructure development.
With this new addition, Tata Power's transmission portfolio now comprises 7,047 circuit kilometres of operational and under-execution lines throughout India, further strengthening the nation's electricity transmission network. Tata Power, part of the Tata Group, has a diversified portfolio of 15.9 GW, covering the entire power value chain including renewable and conventional generation, transmission, distribution, trading, storage solutions, and solar manufacturing. The company aims to achieve Net Zero by 2045.
