A new global study by Tata Communications and Bloomberg Media Studios, titled 'Building Durable AI Advantage', reveals that while 77% of enterprise leaders consider AI a board-level priority, a significant 65% are still relying on legacy or developing infrastructure not equipped for the demands of enterprise AI. The report surveyed 501 senior executives across North America, Europe, and Asia from enterprises with revenues exceeding $500 million. The study identifies five critical systems or 'loops' for AI value: Foundation, Integration, Skills, Governance, and ROI. It highlights pressure points across these areas, including uneven network modernization, difficulties integrating AI with legacy systems (cited by 28% of leaders), skill gaps (a primary barrier for 30% of enterprises), security and compliance reviews causing approval delays (42%), and challenges in tracking the holistic ROI of AI initiatives. Sumeet Walia, President & Chief Revenue Officer at Tata Communications, stated that the real differentiator for AI success is the underlying infrastructure and integration. He emphasized that organizations leading in the future will be those investing in foundations that connect people, systems, data, and intelligence. Tata Communications aims to address this by enabling customers to achieve their business goals through its digital fabric of solutions, which unifies compute, power, connectivity, and platforms. The report's fieldwork was conducted between December 2025 and January 2026. This press release was issued on June 4, 2026.
