Top Queries to Ask About Steel Strips Wheels Limited
Steel Strips Wheels Limited (SSWL) announced that its Board of Directors, in a meeting held on December 26, 2025, has approved several key strategic decisions.
Firstly, the company will execute a lease agreement with its wholly-owned subsidiary, AMW Autocomponent Limited (AACL). This agreement, effective from December 26, 2025, for an initial period of 11 months, will allow SSWL to lease land and facilities measuring approximately 288,793.19 sq. mt. located in Bhuj, Gujarat. This lease is intended to facilitate the expansion of manufacturing capacity.
Secondly, the Board approved the expansion of capacity through the establishment of new manufacturing units on the leased land in Gujarat. These units will focus on producing Alloy Wheels and Aluminum Steering Knuckles. The expansion is subject to obtaining necessary statutory and regulatory approvals.
The estimated production capacity for Alloy Wheels is projected at 7.2 million units per annum, with an estimated Capex of ₹300 crore. For Aluminum Steering Knuckles, the proposed capacity is 0.6 million units per annum, with an estimated Capex of ₹120 crore. The financing for these expansions will be through debt, internal accruals, or a combination thereof. Both expansions are planned to be completed by Q4 of FY 2026-27.
The lease agreement with AACL includes a monthly rent of ₹45,00,000 and is considered an arm's length transaction. The rationale behind the Alloy Wheels expansion is the anticipated growth in the automotive industry and demand from domestic and export markets. The Aluminum Steering Knuckle expansion is driven by the increasing penetration of lighter components in passenger vehicles and expected demand from existing customers.
