Solar Industries India Limited announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL), hosted a visit from the Hon'ble Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh Ji, on January 18, 2026. During the visit, the Raksha Mantri inaugurated SDAL's new state-of-the-art Medium Calibre Ammunition Manufacturing facility in Nagpur.

This new facility is a significant step towards strengthening India's indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities and aligns with the Government of India's Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives. The Hon'ble Raksha Mantri was provided with a comprehensive briefing on Solar Industries' defence product portfolio, its research and development endeavors, and its strategic expansion plans within the defence and aerospace sector.

The company reiterated its commitment to bolstering the nation's self-reliance in defence manufacturing and advancing technological capabilities in the sector.
