Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) has announced that Shri Shailesh Vagerwal has assumed charge as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the company, effective July 09, 2026. This appointment follows a previous intimation by BDL on June 19, 2026. Shri Vagerwal, a distinguished officer of the Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS), brings nearly three decades of experience in the defence manufacturing sector. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Explosive Ordnance Engineering. Throughout his career, Shri Vagerwal has held significant positions at various ordnance factories and Munitions India Limited. His expertise spans ammunition and explosives production, strategic planning, project management, and business development. Prior to this role, he served as Chief General Manager at Ordnance Factory, Khamaria.
