Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI) has announced an extension of the additional charge for the post of Director (BC&T) to Shri Jaswinder Singh, who also serves as Director (L&PS).

This extension, approved by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, is effective from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The approval is subject to the clearance of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh is not related to any existing Director of SCI and has not been debarred from holding a directorship by any regulatory authority. He brings over three and a half decades of maritime experience, including significant service in the Indian Navy and Coast Guard. Prior to this, he has headed various segments within SCI and served on the boards of its subsidiaries and other maritime institutions. He holds a Postgraduate degree in Business Administration and is an alumnus of prestigious institutions like the Naval Postgraduate School in California, USA, and the Defence Services Staff College.
