Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI) has revised its earlier intimation regarding the additional charge of Director (L&PS). The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, via a letter dated 31.12.2025, approved the extension of the additional charge of the post of Director (BC&T), SCI to Shri Jaswinder Singh, Director (L&PS), SCI.

This extension is for the period from 01.01.2026 to 30.06.2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, and is subject to the approval of the ACC. Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh is not related to any Director of the Company and is not debarred from holding any directorship. He possesses over three and a half decades of maritime experience, including service in the Indian Navy and Coast Guard. Since 2023, he has been leading the Liner and Passenger Services segment at SCI and previously held additional charge of the Bulk and Tanker segment for six months. He also serves on the board of SCI Bharat IFSC Ltd and Sethusamudram Corporation Ltd, and is the Vice Chairman of Narottam Morarjee Institute of Shipping. His prior naval appointments include Chief of Staff of the Southern Naval Command and Assistant Chief of Naval Staff Foreign Cooperation. Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh holds a Post Graduate degree in Business Administration and is an alumnus of the Naval Post Graduate School in California, USA, and the Defence Services Staff College at Wellington. He has been awarded the Nau Sena Medal for distinguished service.
