Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd. (SERVOTECH), in collaboration with Electra EV, has been granted a joint patent by the Indian Patent Office for an innovative Electric Vehicle Charging Device. This patent, effective from December 4, 2023, is valid for a term of 20 years. The newly patented technology is designed to enable reliable and efficient charging solutions specifically for low-voltage electric vehicles (sub-200V DC platforms), including those based on GB/T Bharat DC 001 standards. It addresses a critical need within India’s rapidly expanding EV ecosystem by enabling fast DC charging of these vehicles using conventional high-voltage CCS2 charging infrastructure. The joint ownership of this patent is expected to accelerate the development of next-generation EV charging ecosystems. With the increasing adoption of low-voltage electric vehicles across various segments like small commercial EVs and pick-up vans, the demand for flexible and compatible charging infrastructure has grown significantly. Servotech’s patented device offers a practical solution by ensuring safe, stable, and efficient charging for low-voltage EV batteries while maintaining compatibility with widely deployed fast-charging systems. The technology incorporates advanced power management and voltage conversion capabilities.
