Sasken Technologies Limited has received an appeal order from the Joint Commissioner Appeals -5, LGSTO 046 – Bengaluru, DGSTO -5, Karnataka, concerning the financial year 2019-20. The order, received by the company on January 8, 2026, dismissed the company's appeal filed under section 107(1) of the SGST Act, 2017 and CGST Act 2017.

The dismissal confirms a demand raised by DCCT Audit 5.7, totaling ₹17,85,82,450. This amount comprises ₹9,17,85,117 in tax, ₹7,76,18,821 in interest, and ₹91,78,512 in penalty. The interest amount was recalculated at the time of issuing the appeal order, amounting to ₹10,27,46,474 as per APL 04.

The alleged violation pertains to GST payable under the reverse charge on payments made to overseas branches by the Head Office, and mess fees recovered from employees. While the mess fees aspect was allowed in the appeal, it was not seen reduced in the final demand.

Despite the unfavorable order, Sasken Technologies stated that there is no material impact on its financial, operational, or other activities due to the dismissal of the appeal. The company intends to exercise its right to appeal before the GSTAT.
