REC Limited, through its wholly-owned subsidiary REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), has announced the incorporation of a new wholly-owned subsidiary named Munak Power Transmission Limited (CIN: U42202DL2026G0I461101). The incorporation certificate was received on January 7, 2026. This new entity has an authorized and paid-up capital of ₹5,00,000. Munak Power Transmission Limited was formed to facilitate the creation of a 400 kV substation in Munak, Haryana, and its associated transmission lines for the evacuation of 800 MW power from DCRTPP, Yamunanagar. This project was allocated by Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL) on October 1, 2025, with RECPDCL appointed as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) for selecting a bidder. After the selection of a successful bidder through the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, Munak Power Transmission Limited, along with its assets and liabilities, will be transferred to the selected bidder. The incorporation is a direct result of the HVPNL's nomination of RECPDCL as the BPC for this transmission project. The company is in the power sector and is a related party to REC Limited due to its subsidiary status.
