PVR INOX Limited has announced the opening of its first multiplex in Leh, Ladakh, located in Solar Colony, Saboo. This new two-screen cinema is situated at an altitude of 11,500 feet above sea level, making it India's highest multiplex. The cinema operates under the company's Franchise Owned Company Operated (FOCO) model and features 2K projection, Dolby 7.1 surround sound, and Next-Gen 3D capabilities, along with a custom audio system. This expansion into Ladakh also introduces Leh's first-ever food court, a collaboration with Devyani International Limited, featuring brands like KFC, Pizza Hut, and Costa Coffee. Mr. Ajay Bijli, Managing Director of PVR INOX Limited, expressed pride in launching a multiplex in such an extraordinary setting, highlighting the company's commitment to reaching audiences everywhere. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Executive Director, emphasized the innovative and design-led expansion. With this launch, PVR INOX now operates 1,774 screens across 356 properties in 112 cities in India and Sri Lanka. The company aims to enhance the entertainment experience in new regions, contributing to local culture, tourism, and the economy.
