Protean eGov Technologies Limited has received and acknowledged a work order on January 9, 2026, for the implementation of Digital Public Infrastructure and Services for Ethiopia’s Agriculture Ecosystem. This contract, valued at ₹25 crore (including taxes), aligns with the company's strategy to expand its Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) capabilities internationally.

Under the engagement, Protean will serve as a system integrator, delivering end-to-end technology, program management, and engineering services. This includes the design, development, deployment, and support of an AI-powered digital platform for Ethiopia. The project aims to build Global Digital Public Goods (DPGs) to create a unified agricultural ecosystem with unique farmer and farm IDs, integrated data on crops, soil, and livestock, and AI-driven advisory services.

The order was awarded by the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore, and is considered a domestic award, though the project itself is international. The contract is a time and material (T&M) engagement with an execution period of 17 calendar months from the date of contract execution. The company confirmed that promoters or group companies do not have an interest in the awarding entity and the contract does not fall under related party transactions.
