Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has received notices from the BSE Limited (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE), both dated 27th February 2026, regarding non-compliance with Regulation 17(1) of SEBI LODR concerning the composition of the Board for the quarter ended 31st December 2025. Consequently, both BSE and NSE have imposed a fine of ₹5,42,800 (including GST) each on POWERGRID for this non-compliance. The financial implication for each exchange amounts to ₹5,42,800. The violation pertains to the composition of the Board during the quarter ending December 31, 2025. POWERGRID, being a Government Company, has the appointment of directors vested with the President of India. The company has engaged with its Administrative Ministry, the Ministry of Power, to fill the vacant posts of Independent Directors. In light of this, POWERGRID has requested both BSE and NSE, through separate letters dated 28th February 2026, to grant a waiver of the imposed fines.
