NTPC Limited (NTPC) and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) have signed the Supplementary Joint Venture Agreement (SJVA)-III on June 4, 2026, in Lucknow. This agreement pertains to Meja Urja Nigam Private Limited (MUNPL), a 50:50 joint venture between NTPC and UPRVUNL. The primary purpose of SJVA-III is to incorporate provisions for the capacity enhancement of Meja Stage-II. The capacity will be increased from the current 2x660 MW to 3x800 MW within the framework of the Joint Venture Agreement. The signing ceremony was attended by the MD of UPRVUNL, the CEO of MUNPL, and senior officials from NTPC, UPRVUNL, and MUNPL.
