NLC India Limited has announced the appointment of Shri Mangat Ram Sharma as a Part-time Official Director on its board. The appointment, made by the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, is effective from January 16, 2026, and will continue until further orders.

Shri Mangat Ram Sharma, a senior IAS officer of the 1992 batch belonging to the Tamil Nadu cadre, currently serves as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) to the Government of Tamil Nadu in the Public Works Department (PWD). He also holds the full additional charge of the Principal Secretary in the Energy Department of the Tamil Nadu Government.

The company has affirmed that Shri Mangat Ram Sharma is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any order from the Securities and Exchange Board of India or any other relevant authority. Furthermore, he is not related to any of the existing Directors of NLC India Limited.
