Niva Bupa Health Insurance Company Limited has announced significant changes in its board leadership. Mr. Milind Gajanan Barve has resigned as Non-Executive, Independent Director and Chairman of the Board, effective June 02, 2026, due to persistent health issues. Following Mr. Barve's resignation, the Board of Directors, based on the recommendation of the Nomination & Remuneration Committee, has approved the appointment of Mr. Ashwani Bhatia as an Additional Director in the capacity of Non-Executive, Independent Director. This appointment is for a term of five consecutive years, effective June 03, 2026, and is subject to shareholder approval. Furthermore, Mr. Ashwani Bhatia has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Board, effective June 03, 2026, subject to the approval of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). Mr. Bhatia brings over 40 years of experience in financial markets and banking, having previously served as a Whole-Time Member at SEBI and as Managing Director at State Bank of India.
