The company has been issued demand orders for two overseas works. For one overseas work, the GST department has raised a demand of ₹8,21,75,092 in tax, ₹82,17,509 in penalty, and ₹5,52,35,169 in interest for FY 2021-22. The total demand, including penalty and interest, for this particular overseas work amounts to ₹14,56,27,770. For the second overseas work, the total demand, including penalty and interest, is ₹79,95,11,842. The company states that these demands relate to issues concerning Input Tax Credit (ITC) apportionment and reversal for ITC claimed from cancelled dealers, return defaulters, and tax non-payers. NBCC (India) Limited is in the process of filing an appeal against these orders before the appropriate authority.
