NBCC (India) Limited has disclosed receipt of Orders from CGST authorities concerning the demand of tax, penalty, and interest under the Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act, 2017. The company is in the process of filing appeals against these orders. Two separate orders were received by the GST department. For the first overseas work, the total demand, including penalty, is ₹79,95,11,842, along with applicable interest. For the second overseas work, the total demand, including interest and penalty, is ₹14,56,27,770. These demands relate to two overseas projects where NBCC acted as a Project Management Consultant (PMC). The issues raised by the GST department include the apportionment of eligible Input Tax Credit (ITC) and reversal of proportionate ITC attributable to exempt supplies, as well as ITC reversal for ITC claimed from cancelled dealers, return defaulters, and tax non-payers. The company received these communications between December 26th, 2025, and December 31st, 2025. NBCC has stated that it does not anticipate any material impact on its financial, operational, or other business activities as a result of these orders. The company is taking necessary steps to file an appeal before the appropriate authority.
