LT Foods Ltd., a global FMCG company, has announced the establishment of a new manufacturing facility in Raichur, Karnataka, to bolster its supply chain for regional rice varieties like Sona Masoori and Kolam. This strategic move reinforces the company's commitment to its value chain for South Indian rice preferences and aims to capitalize on the growing formalization of the regional rice market. Karnataka is highlighted as a key market for regional rice due to its significant production and consumption of premium non-Basmati rice. The new facility will have an initial production capacity of 30,000 metric tonnes per annum. Commercial production is slated to commence around February 2, 2026, pending necessary approvals. The project involves a capital expenditure of ₹6 crore, which will be financed through internal accruals.
