K.P. Energy Limited (KPEL) announced that its parent group, KP Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat for the development of renewable energy projects in the state. The agreement, signed on January 12, 2026, at Marwadi University, Rajkot, during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference – Investment Promotion Activity, involves an investment of approximately ₹4,000 crore (INR 4000 Cr).

Under this MoU, KP Group plans to establish renewable energy projects with an aggregate capacity of approximately 855 MW. This includes solar power projects and ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects. Specifically, the projects comprise a 200 MW (DC) Solar Power Project under the DREBP scheme, a 405 MW Solar Power Project, and two ISTS-connected Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Projects (CTU) of 100 MW and 150 MW each. These projects are slated for development across multiple locations in Gujarat, including Devbhumi Dwarka and Kutch (Bhuj).

The total proposed investment for these projects is ₹4,000 crore, with an anticipated employment generation of over 4,000 individuals. The implementation of these projects is expected to be phased, contingent upon receiving all necessary statutory approvals and clearances. The Government of Gujarat will facilitate KP Group in obtaining these permissions and clearances from relevant state authorities.

This MoU signifies KP Group's commitment to enhancing Gujarat's renewable energy sector and contributing to the state's clean energy and sustainable development goals. KP Group, established in 1994, has a diversified portfolio in renewable energy, infrastructure, and innovation, with past projects in wind, solar, hybrid energy, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), and green hydrogen.
