Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited has received a letter from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) dated December 19, 2025, along with an order passed by the Adjudication Committee of Executive Directors of the RBI. The order, dated December 11, 2025, imposes a monetary penalty of ₹61.95 lakh (Rupees Sixty-One Lakh Ninety-Five Thousand Only) on the bank. This penalty has been levied due to the bank's non-compliance with the Credit Information Companies Rules, 2006, and related RBI directions. The RBI imposed this penalty under the powers conferred by Section 47A(1)(c) read with Section 46(4)(i) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, and Section 25(1)(iii) read with Section 23(4) of the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act, 2005. These observations were made during the statutory inspection of the bank for the financial year ended March 31, 2024.
