Kernex Microsystems (India) Limited has provided an update regarding a 2024 order from Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of On-Board KAVACH equipment for 2,500 locomotives. The company requested an extension of the delivery period due to delays in the certification process.

However, CLW, in a communication dated January 9, 2026, informed the company that the request for extension has not been considered. Kernex Microsystems stated that this non-consideration does not adversely impact its financials, technical credentials, or eligibility for future tenders from Indian Railways.

The company also noted that Indian Railways has recently floated additional locomotive tenders through CLW and Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), with the bidding process completed and results expected shortly. Kernex Microsystems plans to use its existing inventory from the CLW project for upcoming requirements and future opportunities.
