ITI Limited has been awarded a significant work order valued at ₹72.76 Crores for the construction of an Ice-Hockey Rink facility in Kaza Soma, Lahaul & Spiti district, Himachal Pradesh. The order was released by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Lahaul & Spiti.

The project scope includes building a full-fledged Ice-Hockey Rink, a 500-kW solar power backup system, and the installation of CCTV cameras, lighting, and other associated accessories. This initiative is part of a larger plan to develop world-class sports infrastructure in the Spiti Valley, aiming to boost sports opportunities, encourage youth engagement, and promote sports tourism in the region.

Mr. Rajesh Rai, Chairman and Managing Director of ITI Limited, expressed his happiness in contributing to the ice hockey infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh. He also highlighted ITI Limited's ongoing involvement in the Bharatnet Phase-III project in Himachal Pradesh, where the company has already laid approximately 990 kms of OFC cable across 81 blocks and is building the State Network Operation Center (SNOC).

Ice hockey, which began in Spiti in 2019, has shown promise with participants winning multiple medals in national games.
