Indian Energy Exchange Limited (IEX) has issued a clarification regarding a news item published on www.economictimes.com on January 09, 2026, titled “NSE, IGX in talks to launch India's first natural gas futures contract”.

IEX stated that the news article is based on information reportedly from the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE). While India Gas Exchange Limited (IGX) is an associate company of IEX, it is a separate legal entity with its own independent management and Board of Directors. IEX clarified that it does not have any role in the day-to-day operations and management of IGX and is therefore not aware of any such development reported in the news article, nor is it in a position to comment on it.

The company confirmed that it is not aware of any information or event that has not been disclosed to the stock exchanges which may have a bearing on the trading in its securities. IEX reiterated its commitment to making timely and accurate disclosures in compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
