Hinduja Global Solutions Limited (HGS) has announced the launch of AMLens, a new AI-powered solution designed to enhance and expedite Anti-Money Laundering (AML) investigations for financial institutions. The solution integrates machine learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to significantly reduce case analysis time and the rate of false positives, thereby aiding banks in meeting regulatory standards and improving investigator productivity.
AMLens addresses common industry challenges such as manual case resolution, alert fatigue, and regulatory alignment gaps by providing a modular and explainable AI ecosystem. It automates the consolidation of fragmented data from various sources, including structured transaction logs and unstructured notes, into a unified, analyst-friendly format. The solution is built with a modular, API-first design for seamless integration with existing client systems and is targeted at segments like Retail & Consumer Banking, Payments & Fintech, Credit Card & Lending, and Wealth Management.
Eric Purdum, Head of Sales – Americas at HGS, stated that AMLens is a significant advancement, built on Explainable AI principles and human-in-the-loop validation. It automates routine tasks like transaction monitoring and customer due diligence, providing analysts with speed, clarity, and confidence through transparent decision-making and automated narratives. This allows investigators to concentrate on high-priority investigations, making a substantial impact in the fight against money laundering.
Early client deployments have shown remarkable performance improvements. AMLens has achieved a 75% reduction in case analysis time, decreasing it from approximately two hours to around 30 minutes. The false positive rate has fallen by over 60%, from about 18% to 7%. This enhanced accuracy has led to a threefold increase in investigator productivity, boosting the number of cases handled per day from eight to 24. The overall turnaround time has been reduced by 75%, from 48 hours to 12 hours.
A key feature of AMLens is its ability to combine AI-driven narrative generation with essential human oversight. When a third-party system flags an account, AMLens utilizes a three-tiered pipeline: early detection and risk categorization, contextualization with human intervention via an RFAI feature, and narrative generation with AI-supported SAR submission. This streamlined process, which includes manual escalation by the analyst, accelerates case resolution to approximately 55 minutes, demonstrating the system's efficiency in maintaining necessary human judgment.
