Godrej Agrovet Limited (GAVL) has launched a new insecticide named 'TAKAI' specifically developed for rice crops. This product is powered by CyclaprynTM technology, developed by ISK Japan, and is effective against key rice pests such as Stem Borer and Leaf Folder. The company is also in the process of obtaining label approval for TAKAI in other crops including Maize, Chilli, Cabbage, Soybean, Chickpea, and Sugarcane. According to Sunil Kataria, MD & CEO of Godrej Agrovet, the launch of TAKAI aims to help rice farmers protect their crops from pest attacks, offering quick control and long-lasting effectiveness to improve crop health. N. K. Rajavelu, CEO of Crop Protection Business at Godrej Agrovet, highlighted that the product delivers rapid feeding cessation and sustained pest control, helping farmers optimize input costs and secure higher yields. The recommended dosage for TAKAI is 160 ml, applied at 15-30 Days After Transplant (DAT) and again at 40-60 DAT for extensive protection. This launch follows the introduction of a maize herbicide, ASHITAKA, last year, reinforcing Godrej Agrovet's commitment to innovation and farmer-led product development in creating a sustainable agricultural ecosystem. The company aims to improve the productivity of Indian farmers through its various agri-business segments.
