Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL) has announced a further investment in its wholly owned subsidiary, Godawari New Energy Private Limited (GNEPL). This investment is intended to fund the capital expenditure and working capital requirements for GNEPL's Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) plant. GPIL received an intimation on December 17, 2025, that GNEPL had allotted 7,39,50,000 Non-Cumulative Participating Optionally Convertible Redeemable Preference Shares (Series 2) of ₹10 each, at par, aggregating to ₹73.95 Crores. The allotment was made on a rights basis to GPIL on December 16, 2025. GNEPL, incorporated on June 25, 2025, is in the process of setting up a 20 GW Battery Energy Storage System Plant in its first phase. The funds from this investment will be utilized for this purpose. The company's registered office is in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, with operations to be set up in Maharashtra. As of September 30, 2025, GNEPL had a net worth of ₹25.50 Crores and a turnover of NIL. The investment is considered a related party transaction as GNEPL is a wholly owned subsidiary, but it is being conducted on an arm's length basis.
