Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) has announced a significant change in its leadership. Effective December 29, 2025, Shri Rajkumar Beniwal, IAS, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the company. This appointment comes as Dr. T. Natarajan, IAS, has ceased to hold the position of Managing Director on the same date, pursuant to an order from the Government of Gujarat.

Dr. T. Natarajan, however, will continue to serve on the Board of Directors as a Nominee Director representing the Finance Department of the Government of Gujarat. The company will now initiate the necessary statutory procedures, including approvals from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Board, to formally induct Shri Rajkumar Beniwal as Managing Director and Key Managerial Personnel.

Shri Rajkumar Beniwal brings a wealth of experience, being an IAS officer from the 2004 batch (Gujarat Cadre) with nearly two decades of public service. He holds a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT (BHU) and a Master’s in Public Administration from Duke University, USA. His previous roles include Collector and District Magistrate of Mehsana and Ahmedabad, District Development Officer in Kutch, and coordinating the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summits in 2017 and 2018. He has also served as Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Gujarat Maritime Board and Managing Director of Gujarat Urban Development Company Limited.

The company has confirmed that Shri Rajkumar Beniwal is not debarred from holding office by any SEBI order or other authorities. Further details as required by SEBI regulations have been provided in Annexure-A and Annexure-B of the announcement.
