GMR Power & Urban Infra Limited has announced the incorporation of GMR Andhra Pradesh Renewable Energy -I Limited (GAPREL) as a wholly owned subsidiary of its subsidiary, GMR Energy Limited (GEL). GAPREL has been established to explore business opportunities in the renewable energy sector and is yet to commence active business operations. The incorporation took place on March 19, 2026. GEL has subscribed to 50,000 equity shares of ₹10 each in GAPREL, representing a 100% stake, with an initial paid-up capital of ₹5 lakh. The formation of this subsidiary is part of GMR Energy Limited's strategy to expand its renewable energy generation and transmission capabilities. This incorporation does not constitute a related party transaction, and the promoter/promoter group/group companies of GMR Power & Urban Infra Limited do not have any interest in GAPREL beyond GEL's ownership.
