The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (GE Shipping) announced the delivery of its newly acquired Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC), named “Jag Vijay”. The 2015-built vessel, with a capacity of approximately 84,048 cubic meters, was delivered on January 16, 2026. The company had entered into a contract to purchase this vessel during the third quarter of the fiscal year 2026. The acquisition was financed entirely through internal accruals.

Following this acquisition, GE Shipping's operational fleet now comprises 40 vessels. This includes 26 tankers, consisting of 5 crude tankers, 16 product tankers, and 5 LPG carriers, along with 14 dry bulk carriers, which include 2 Capesize, 10 Kamsarmax, and 2 Supramax vessels. The total deadweight tonnage (dwt) of the fleet stands at 3.22 million. The company reported that its current capacity utilization is nearly 100%.

In addition to the recent delivery, GE Shipping has further strategic plans in motion. The company has contracted to acquire one secondhand Ultramax Dry Bulk Carrier and one secondhand Medium Range Tanker. Concurrently, it plans to sell one Kamsarmax Dry Bulk Carrier, the “Jag Aarati”, and one Very Large Gas Carrier, the “Jag Vishnu”. These pending purchase and sale transactions are anticipated to be concluded within the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2026.
