Gujarat Ambuja Exports Limited (GAEL) has received a Goods and Services Tax (GST) demand order from the Assistant Commissioner of State Goods & Service Tax, Ahmedabad. The order, dated 26th December 2025, pertains to the financial year 2021-22. The demand order determines a total tax liability of ₹48,08,147, which includes ₹27,07,290 as tax and ₹21,00,857 as interest. This demand is raised in relation to excess Input Tax Credit (ITC) claimed by the company as per the GST department's assessment. GAEL has stated that the demand order has no material impact on its financials, operations, or other activities. The company believes the order is arbitrary, unjustified, and unsustainable in law.
