Gujarat Ambuja Exports Limited (GAEL) has announced the commencement of commercial production at its new facility in Hubli, Karnataka. This plant is India's first maize starch-based fermentation unit for manufacturing Sodium Gluconate, with an installed capacity of 30,000 tonnes per annum (TPA). Commercial production began on Friday, December 19, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m. This marks a significant step in GAEL's strategic expansion into maize fermentation-based products. The company has ambitious plans to further scale up its capacity in this segment.
