Exide Industries Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Indranil Chatterjee as Senior Management Personnel (SMP) with effect from January 12, 2026. Mr. Chatterjee holds a Bachelor's degree in Production Engineering from Jadavpur University and an Advanced Management Diploma from the Wharton School. He brings over 30 years of experience in manufacturing excellence, operational leadership, project management, and business transformation across various sectors.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Chatterjee served as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Chloride Metals Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Exide Industries. Under his leadership, Chloride Metals Limited significantly scaled up its recycling operations and implemented key initiatives such as Producer Gas systems, Integrated Battery Breaking Units, and Plastic Recycling facilities. The company currently records a turnover exceeding ₹6,000 crore and is recognized as one of Asia's largest smelters.

Mr. Chatterjee has played a crucial role in positioning Chloride Metals Limited as a strategic entity for meeting Exide Industries' Battery Waste Management Rules (BWMR) requirements. He has also held significant roles in organizations like Eveready Industries, Aditya Birla Group, and Hindustan National Glass, contributing to the transformation of manufacturing operations.
