Noida Toll Bridge Company Limited (NTBCL) has announced that the ongoing and proposed upgradation work on the DND Flyway will experience temporary delays, extending the completion timelines by a few weeks into February 2026. The delays are attributed to the imposition of GRAP-IV measures across the National Capital Region (NCR) due to hazardous air quality conditions. Road improvement work, classified as polluting, cannot be undertaken while GRAP IV is in effect. NTBCL had commenced preliminary activities for the DND upgradation work in the third week of October 2025, with an expected completion by the end of December 2025 or January 2026. However, statutory restrictions under GRAP-IV prohibited upgradation activities, pushing the work commencement timeline to December 2025, a delay of nearly five weeks. Furthermore, technical recommendations indicate that a part of the upgradation work, originally scheduled for November, cannot be carried out in the cold December temperatures as it requires a specific temperature environment for completion. This portion will be taken up in January. These factors have halted construction progress, affecting the completion timelines. Once GRAP-IV measures are lifted and conditions become conducive, the work is expected to be completed within approximately five weeks, potentially extending the timelines into February 2026. NTBCL remains committed to maintaining the DND Flyway to world-class standards and will keep stakeholders informed of any adjustments.
