Delhivery Limited, through its TransportOne platform, has launched an Autonomous Transport Management System (TMS) designed to automate logistics operations using AI Agents. This new TMS enables enterprise shippers to leverage AI Agents for critical functions such as negotiating freight rates, planning shipments, and reconciling invoices. The system aims to significantly reduce manual workload by automating freight procurement, planning, execution, and reconciliation, while embedding compliance directly into workflows. Unlike traditional TMS which requires constant human input, Delhivery's platform operates on a 'manage by exception' principle. Uday Anand, Vice President of Product at TransportOne, stated that the platform's AI Agents handle planning, negotiation, and monitoring of freight autonomously, escalating only genuine exceptions. Users are expected to shift from actively operating the system to supervising outcomes. The platform utilizes a multi-agent design: Procurement Agents handle spot auctions and carrier selection, Execution Agents monitor shipments and resolve delays, and Invoice Agents validate freight bills by reconciling contracts, GPS data, and proof of delivery. These agents make dynamic decisions to minimize revenue leakage from rate deviations and billing errors. Users can interact with the system via Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp using natural language commands. The platform is positioned as an autonomous operator that requires human intervention only when judgment is necessary.
