ETERNAL LIMITED (formerly Zomato Limited) has announced a significant leadership transition. Deepinder Goyal has tendered his resignation as Director, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO), effective from the close of business hours on February 1, 2026. He will transition to the role of Vice Chairman, subject to shareholders' approval. Albinder Dhindsa (Albi) will assume the position of Group CEO. Goyal explained that he is stepping away from the Group CEO role to pursue new ideas involving higher-risk exploration and experimentation outside of Eternal's public company structure. He emphasized that while he has the bandwidth for both, the expectations for a public company CEO require singular focus. This change aims to keep Eternal sharply focused while allowing Goyal the space to explore new ventures. Goyal reiterated his continued commitment to Eternal, stating that his involvement in long-term strategy, culture, leadership development, ethics, and governance will continue. He highlighted his strong partnership with Dhindsa and Akshant, and that all business CEOs will retain their autonomy. Dhindsa's leadership in Blinkit's journey from acquisition to breakeven was specifically mentioned as a key qualification for his new role. As part of the transition, all of Deepinder Goyal's unvested ESOPs will revert to the ESOP pool, ensuring opportunities for future leaders without incremental shareholder dilution. Goyal expressed his vision for Eternal to become India's most valuable company, serving a billion customers, creating significant societal impact, and providing livelihoods for millions. He stated that this change is a shift in title, not commitment, and Eternal remains his life's work.
