Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DEEPAKFERT) has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Maha Dhan Agri Tech Limited (MAL), has received a Demand Order from the Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Central Circle. The order pertains to a demand of ₹19,58,00,391 under section 170A of the Income Tax Act, 1961, for the Assessment Year 2022-23. The order was received on 25th December 2025, around 05:32 PM. The Income Tax Officer (AO) made certain disallowances while passing the order. However, MAL has stated that these disallowances were deleted by the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) in earlier years and are supported by other judicial pronouncements. MAL has taken a legal view that the demand is not tenable and is likely to be set aside in appeal. The company expects no material impact on the financials, operations, or other activities of either DEEPAKFERT or MAL. MAL intends to challenge the order at an appropriate forum.
