Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DEEPAKFERT) has received an order imposing a penalty from the Joint Commissioner of State Tax (Appeals), Pune. The order, reference no. ZD2701260615884, was passed on January 13, 2026, and received by the company via email on the same date around 15:54 hours.

The original demand was ₹95,60,58,493. The order reduced the tax demand from ₹40,44,38,370 to ₹34,38,24,264. The interest was reduced from ₹57,07,71,223 to ₹56,27,86,306, and the penalty was reduced from ₹5,61,67,673 to ₹4,94,47,923.

The company states that there was no violation or contravention. The department had disallowed input tax credit claimed, citing non-reflection in GSTR2A and ineligible credit. Deepak Fertilizers believes the demand is not tenable and intends to challenge the order at an appropriate forum, stating there is no material impact on the company's financials, operations, or other activities.
