Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) has announced its intention to invest ₹20 crore in India International Bullion Holding IFSC Limited (IIBHL). The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) approved this investment on July 08, 2026. This investment will be made in one or more tranches, subject to CDSL maintaining its net worth requirements. IIBHL is a holding company for a Bullion Project, funding its subsidiaries India International Bullion Exchange IFSC Limited and India International Depository IFSC Limited, which are involved in bullion import and depository functions. IIBHL's consolidated turnover for the year ended March 31, 2026, was ₹10,46,53,990. CDSL, along with other consortium members like India INX, MCX, NSDL, and NSE, had previously set up IIBHL to operationalize the India International Bullion Exchange, Bullion Clearing Corporation, and Depository in GIFT City. The investment is aimed at supporting IT infrastructure development and maintaining net worth as stipulated by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA). The first tranche of investment, up to ₹10 crore, is tentatively planned for completion by August 02, 2026. Further investments will follow post-receipt of intimation from IIBHL, adhering to overseas direct investment processes. CDSL currently holds a 20% stake in IIBHL, and this additional investment will maintain that same percentage of holding.
