Shipping Corporation of India Land and Assets Limited (SCILAL) has announced a change in its board leadership.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, via letter no. 11012 /2/2023 -SU dated 29th December 2025, has approved the extension of the additional charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) for SCILAL to Capt. B. K. Tyagi. Capt. Tyagi, who is also the CMD of Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (SCI), will hold this additional charge for a period of six months, commencing from January 1, 2026, and concluding on June 30, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This extension is subject to the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

Capt. B.K. Tyagi is not related to any Director of SCILAL and is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any SEBI order or similar authority. His brief profile indicates extensive experience in the shipping industry, including holding various directorial positions within SCI and other related entities. He has been with SCI since 1990 and has held numerous responsible appointments both at sea and ashore. He has also received several accolades for his leadership and contributions to the maritime sector.
