Bharti Airtel Limited has received a notice from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Assam LSA, imposing a penalty of ₹6.08 lakh for alleged violations of subscriber verification norms. The notice was received by the company on December 24, 2025, at 17:00 Hrs. The DoT conducts periodic Customer Application Form (CAF) audits to ensure compliance with licensing terms, which require adequate customer verification before enrollment. A sample CAF audit for the quarter ending September 2025 alleged non-compliance with subscriber verification norms under the License Agreement. The maximum financial impact is limited to the penalty levied. Bharti Airtel stated that it does not agree with the order and will take appropriate actions for rectification or reversal. The company also cited a technical error on the NEAPS Portal as the reason for a delay in filing the disclosure with the National Stock Exchange (NSE), though it had informed NSE about this delay and had already filed the disclosure with BSE on December 25, 2025, within the due timelines.
