Bharti Airtel Limited has received a notice from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Karnataka LSA, imposing a penalty of ₹2,09,000. The penalty is for alleged violation of subscriber verification norms, as determined by a sample Customer Application Form (CAF) Audit conducted by the DoT for October 2025. The DoT conducts periodic CAF Audits to ensure compliance with licensing terms and conditions, which mandate adequate verification of customers before enrollment. Bharti Airtel has decided not to contest the penalty and will proceed with its payment. The company stated that the maximum financial impact is limited to the penalty levied.
