Bhageria Industries Limited has announced a temporary disruption at its manufacturing unit located at Plot No. D-17, MIDC Tarapur Boisar Industrial Area, Palghar. The company received a notice on March 2, 2026, from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), Thane, issuing a Voluntary Closure Direction for the Sulphonation section of the H Acid Product manufacturing unit. The directive stems from an incident on March 2, 2026, where a measuring tank containing Oleum fell, leading to a leakage and spread of Oleum fumes in the surrounding area. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported. The MPCB has instructed the company to voluntarily close down this section as a precautionary and safety measure. The company has stated that its operations have always complied with environmental and statutory laws. Bhageria Industries has assured that there is no financial or material impact from this directive. As per the MPCB's instructions, the company will conduct a safety audit shortly and obtain the necessary approvals from MPCB and the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH) before resuming operations.
